Today is a very special day!

.....Why? It's Stephen King's birthday!!!!

Happy Birthday to the Ink Slinger! The Sai King!

To celebrate his birthday, leave me a comment telling me which of his books is your favorite or which was the first one you read!

My favorite is a tie between The Shining and ' Salem's Lot. The first one I read was 'Salem's Lot. Scared the shit out of me and I slept with the lights on for a week!

My favorites are Bag of Bones and Duma Key. I also really liked Misery. If you can believe it, I have not read Salem's Lot or The Shining, but I have read Carrie. Oh, yeah, I really liked The Green Mile too. Okay, what don't I like by him, right?! I guess you can see why he's one of my top favorite authors. =O)

The only one I refuse to read is It.

Clowns already scare the hell out of me and I don't want to read a book about one.

Happy Birthday Stephen!!

First book was Salem's Lot and it scared the Bejeezus out of me!! That was many moons ago, as a teen and I've read all his others since then but Salem's Lot is still the one that jumps to mind when I think of his scariest.

Although, 'IT' is right up there with it on the scare-o-meter. Seriously scary!

Favourite is a toss up between those two and 'The Stand'. I like his earlier books best, he seems to have lost his 'spook factor' in later years...for me anyway.

Oh, just remembered 'Needful Things', that's a great one too, really liked that one. And 'Pet Semetary' = Great.
